Food Review – Bon Appetit at The French Baker, Philippines

It’s been a two decades when French Baker opened its doors with their first branch at SM North Edsa. The company has single-handedly revitalized the breadmaking business, turning it into a booming industry.

The French Baker has built its success out of its Founder and President Johnlu G. Koa’s vision for innovation: to take the idea of the neighborhood bakery to the next level, allowing every Filipino to enjoy freshly-baked, high-quality, and affordable breads.

And because The French Baker has a special place in my heart. (Dito kami madalas mag date ni daddy A). We ate our lunch here yesterday to reminisced the past. Hahaha..

The order- For starter they gave us complimentary Mushroom soup.

For mains daddy A tried our favorite HICKORY SPARERIBS it’s juicy pork spareribs topped with Hickory BBQ sauce and sided with pan-roasted seasonal vegetables and rice.

While I ordered the PORK CHOP AU POIVRE it’s 2pcs herb marinated pork chop, grilled ala carte in brown peppercorn sauce and sided with pan-roasted seasonal vegetables and rice

For refreshment we sampled the  BREWED CITRUS ICED TEA with min leaves.

Naturally, temptation got the better of us and we ordered Oreo Cheesecake which is an epic fail. It’s so bland and complete waste of money.

The verdict – Delectable French cuisine that can be tailored to meet every filipinos desires.

Food Review – Yakimix Sushi Smokeless Grill Restaurant.

Craving for sushi lately? Enjoy a wide array of fresh, yummy and mouth watering sushi at Yakimix.

The month of July is the busiest month in our family so many birthdays to celebrate.

Like my advance birthday celebration last Saturday at Yakimix Sushi Smokeless Grill Restaurant.

The menu – Just like other buffet restaurants, Yakimix serves a wide range of food and drinks. You can have a taste of Japanese dishes, Korean dishes and Chinese cuisine. Fan of sushi? They have a wide variety of different sushi here at Yakimix. Enjoy different kinds of korean soups, noodles, and also desserts.

What i loved about Yakimix is that you can have your favorite food grilled at your own table. Staffs will set up the built-in grill at your table. Choose from different food that you wish to grill – seafood, fish cuts, bacon, different food on sticks, and so much more. It’s so much fun grilling them and eat them hot and fresh.

Not a fan of grilling? Then you may also enjoyed the buffet with different kind of dishes from pizza, dimsum to lechon kawali.

Let’s proceed to sweets.Desserts are plenty so you can actually have a try of each food and choose which one you prefer the most.  Their desserts are actually really good – especially their leche flan.

Yakimix also served Halo-Halo, Ice Cream, Gummies, Candies,Nestle Popsicles and Fresh fruits.

The verdict – I highly recommend Yakimix. I actually cannot wait to go back there again. The price is pretty affordable too. For around P600 per head for lunch or diner buffet, I’d say it’s affordable.

#MyMamonMinion

The mischievous Minions are back! If you thought those sunny little yellow guys from Despicable Me 1 & 2 were funny, wait till you see what kind of trouble they get into Minions movie.

Because Kuya Angelo is always smitten to any Minion Crafts. He adores those lovable yellow little creatures.

So after watching the commercial of Monde Mamon-it-yourself Minion Limited Offer. I knew we have to try it for ourselves too.

Aren’t these Mamon Minions simply the cutest?
Actually this is the supposed activity of the kids during his birthday celebration but it is always out of stock in leading supermarket. Fortunately, yesterday we went to SM Fairview and saw one in the gondola. I was so excited that I hurriedly grabbed one pack with 6 classic flavor of Mamon and Mamon Minion Maker Kit for only php 74.

The Mamon Minion Kit includes 3 big candy goggles, 3 candy eyes, 1 pack of yellow frosting and a small edible black fondant for the mouth and to attach the goggles.

I guess the best time to make it is in the afternoon right after the siesta para saktong meryenda na din..hehe

Here’s the four steps to create your own Mamon Minion:

Step 1: Spread frosting on top of Mamon.

Step 2: Use fondants to create Minion eyes.   Step 3: Assemble your own very own Minion.  Step 4: Enjoy

And for those who can’t get enough of those silly Minions. Whether you are planning your own Minion party or just looking for a great afternoon bonding this activity is sure to please your Minions.

Ultimate Barkada Greenwich Overload…

When you are abroad and you visit your home country very often there are some restaurants/food chains that your palate wanted to taste.

While the temperature in Dubai rises from 45-50 degree here in the Philippines July and August are the rainy season. That’s our major reason why we seldom leave the house. Until one day I craved for pizza and all I ever wanted was to try Greenwich Pizza.

Greenwich Pizza is one true Filipino pizza chain – a small entrepreneurship that made an extraordinary leap to the big league. What started out as a small over-the-counter pizza store in the Greenhills Commercial Center in 1971, is now the Philippines biggest pizza chain.

The menu – is filled with a wide variety of mouth-watering selections from pizzas, pastas, chicken, rice dishes to desserts that will make any meal a delightful shared experience.

The order – We choose to sample their Ultimate Barkada Feast. We ordered Pizza Feast B which is good for 4 pax for only php 599.

The barkada pack includes 4pcs of chicken, 2 order of pasta, 4 cups of rice, one medium size ultimate overload pizza and a pitcher of cold softdrinks. We changed the Coke to Nestea Iced Tea with additional cost of php 80.

The food attendant suggested to try their Coolers so I ordered for Buco Pandan Pearl Cooler and this is a great choice!

The verdict – Now I know the reasons why Greenwich is the Favorite ng Barkada. It is prepared for the comfort of the filipino taste.Scrumptious blend of exciting pizza and pasta innovations.

Letter to Angelo on his 6th birthday

Dear Angelo,

Happy 6th birthday anak!

I can’t believe that you are 6 years old today. I’m surprised that so much time has already passed since I met you for the first time. You were so tiny back then and I am so afraid to touch you but you gave me a beautiful smile affirming me that you will always be secured with mommy’s arms. Back then I knew that you will give us joy every day.

You are such an amazing boy, so happy, loving, and snuggly. You are absolutely gorgeous and my goodness, I am so unbelievably grateful for you every day. Although like any kids at your age madalas me kulit kang sobra. You are easy to pleased and loved to play with your daddy A. Sometimes you and Inigo fight over a toy or over small things but we tried to explained to you your role as a big brother to your siblings. It warmed my heart every time you’ll say ” i love my family “. It only proves that you are well- loved. We are still working on the traits of  obedience, patience and politeness but I know God is still working on your progress.

Your smile lights up our whole world – and all I have to do is close my eyes and I can see it and it immediately makes me feel happy.

I know we always argue every time I’ll asked you to smile for pictures and I’m sorry for that. All I wanted is to have a cute photos with you para pag malaki ka na you’ll remember how mommy loves being around you.

You are still in Lego’s toys but this time you’re building the small ones na. At first you find it hard because the pieces are too small but with patience and perseverance you made it! You were so proud of yourself! And I am so glad seeing your achievements.

We are so blessed to be your parents. I love watching you change and grow everyday. It’s amazing how quickly you’re adapting, learning and how much you are observing the world around you now. I am very proud of you, son.Thank you for understanding the big change of our life!

You are giving me a whole different perspective on the world and seeing you laugh, play and smile is the highlight of my day. You and your siblings have made being a mom the most treasured journey of my life.

Once again Happy Birthday Angelo! I love you to bits!💋

Love,

Mommy

Assemble the Minions! Angelo’s 6th Birthday Minion Party

We celebrated Angelo’s 6th birthday in advance with a Minion Mayhem theme. It was a whirlwind day of fun, food, sweets and splash of water.

After finalizing that the venue I only had about one week to plan and execute, so almost all of the decorations were easy DIY projects and thanks to a trip to Divisoria for the party decors.

We did simple yellow tablecloths with the Blue polka dots banner and few Minion balloons. I also used Minions printables which I got it free from Sheshalyn Party.

I layed out all of the food buffet-style for the guests to help themselves. They feasted on:

  • Spareribs Caldereta ( all time favorite )
  • Hotdogs
  • Crispy Fried Chicken
  • Spaghetti
  • Dolor’s Kakanin

I’m not going to lie, I’m kind of happy to have this party simply because it was pretty easy to throw together.

I opted to put a simple candy buffet with the addition of Minion happy meal toy from Mc Donald’s  and the kids loved it.

The birthday cakes were a gift from Tita Belle and Tita Karen. We don’t want to spend too much for the cake so I only requested  Chocolate cake from Goldilocks and Red Ribbon. It’s is our fave.

Despite the rain the kids still enjoyed the pool. Sadly, I didn’t get a group photo of the entire set with Inigo and Isabelle. Inigo is still recovering from sickness.

I got these cute Minion top from 168 Shopping Mall and gave it to the kids as party favors.

Opening of presents is the most awaited time of the celebrant. Especially getting the toys that he always been wanted. Lego Marvel Superheroes and Lego Fire Station.Thank you Tita Raquiza he’s so surprised and glad! I’m also overwhelmed with the love he’s receiving from our families. Angelo is so lucky to have generous tita, tito and lolo’t lola.

To our family who celebrated with us thanks a MINION! You simply made it extra ordinary and memorable. We love you all! Thank you Nanay Celda for cookIng and preparing all the dishes. To my Ate Racel for helping me with the venue. Tita Belle and Tito Aaron for helping me with the decorations.

We were invited – Johan Turns Two – Jollitown Themed Party

We’re finally HOME after six long years of not visiting our home country. We are so overwhelmed with all the special treatments that my children are getting from their grandparents. No wonder that parents and lolo’t – lola are having conflicts. Parents will create rules while grandparents breaks it! Sometimes it freaked me out! But I guess that’s their way of showing affection😁

Moving on recently we attended my nephew’s 2nd birthday and we were all excited! Why not?! It’s Jollibee Party! The party was held in Alabang Festival City.

The theme were Jollitown and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

This party is full of cute ideas that any child who love Jollibee will surely have fun!

Kids got to enjoyed face painting, photobooth, games and prizes and of course the appearance of Jollibee and Hetty mascots.
