Ahoy Mateys – Come set sail with us – Little A’s 1st birthday

Ahoy Mateys! Today I thought of sharing little A’s first birthday party in case someone else has a little pirate in their home and would like to do a pirate themed party for them as well.

Planning a party especially when you are working abroad can be a tough job for us. Good thing that I was a member of a mommy forum that caters mainly on all the things we need to know about being a newly mom.You should be part of N@w group. It’s worth reading every single thoughts.

Anyway back to my kwento. When we were looking for a party planner I have read positive feedbacks about Jaque Tan of Party Booster. She’s one of the well recommended suppliers in n@w.
I googled her and was hooked on her gallery. I love working with a team that will not dictate you about the details but rather will listen on our own ideas. During the course of planning, she’s giving me helpful tips and that’s the reason why I liked her so much.

She styled up this absolutely dazzling pirates party for little A,so many wonderful little details. An easy challenge for a very talented and accommodating party planner. We chose a color palette of blues, red and gray with purple and gold accents. I have a total love of all things about our  party from decors, food, cake to every little details, I giggled to myself the whole time I was reminiscing how fabulous this party. They were so fun!

As you walked through the venue guests were greeted at the party with a hand crafted TREASURE CHEST.

Each lucky little pirate guest took home eye patches and bandanas. We also created customized name badge for each of them.

Guest book were laid-out by Tita K. This is one of the cutest DIY.

For table centerpiece we bought frames from IKEA and used foam stcikers from Divisoria. Another DIY. What I learned from being a such a hands on party organizer of our family “you really have to be resourceful and at the same time always accept help”. When you think that you can’t do the original plan “LET GO”! There will always be next year.

I had to include this lovely invitation detail as well. It’s a brilliant way of setting the moods of your guests. I am proud to say that we made the cutest birthday party invitation. They looked like message in a bottle. My sister from Raven Digitalworks designed the invitation,we and burned the sides of the paper to make it more appealing. All items were bought in Tabora,Divisoria including the sands. That’s the reason why I love Manila when everything are always accessible to you.

The birthday cake was made by Les Secrereis Cakes and Pastries. I have sent some images and she sent me drawing for approval. Reading all the positive feedback I knew that she will create an awesome cake and she never failed me. Her creation is beyond my expectation. Taste wise – the cake was very moist and the icing was really delicious.
The party itself was a lot of fun and I think that kids and adults had a great time. I highly recommend getting Flooch as your party host/magician. He really knows how to tickle the guests. He made our afternoon full of laughters. And kids were really amazed on his tricks and shows.
winner for best in costume

I hope you enjoy this party as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
