Before we end our morning session and while waiting for lunch break we let the kids rest by reading books. I brought lots of christmas books and they all enjoyed reading.

Creativity flourishes when things are done for enjoyment. What matters is the pleasure, not the perfection. Let’s forget about the “getting it right” and let’s give our kids the opportunity to explore, to make mistakes and take risks and to feel the freedom to express all their wonderful ideas.

Coming up part two of our Fun with Kids Corner..

How to make a toilet roll snowman:

We started by wrapping a strip of paper around the tube. Then taped it, to make sure it stayed in place.
Next we used the elastic part of the sock as bottom of the hat buy instead of gluing the hat I prefer to used the washi tape para cute.
You may use markers to draw eyes or use googly eyes
Lastly we glue the buttons on his belly..

Pre – Writing Skills – Tweezers Fun

Tweezers and Paint Tray.

Now here’s a fun activity that uses materials readily available in our house.

Take a clean paint tray or ice cube tray, a pair of tweezers, buttons, pompoms colored cotton balls or macaroni pasta.

Since we only have uncooked and uncolored pasta. I just ask Angelo to try to transfer the small pasta using tweezers.
However, for more challenging task, you can ask your toddler to sort items into the tray slots by color, size, or quantity.

The goal of this activity is to teach the toddler to hold the tweezers using the proper pincer grip (thumb on one side, and the pointer and middle fingers on the other).

Pre- Writing Skills – Shoe Lacing

There are lots of activities that we can introduce to help and encourage physical development of our kids.

Toddlers often do not have precise fine motor control, but we can always help them to learn to use their small muscles during play.

One activity that kids may like is shoe lacing.
After noticing that Angelo was enjoyed and interested in making pasta necklaces we move on to our next activity.

I bought the shoe cardboard in Toys R Us for aed 5.

Lacing is an excellent activity for developing fine motor skills, improving hand-eye coordination and concentration.
