How was your week? If there’s one thing I’ve learned being staying at home for quite sometime now, it’s that being a mom is a lot like being a super hero.

We are responsible for so much in the well being of our children but with healthy doses of goodness, love, imagination, play, and laughter we can always save the day.

And my mother’s day was will filled love from my family but also with kind words, emails, Facebook messages, and photos that have been sent to me sharing your results.

Diary of a newbie mom recommends: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula – Skin Therapy Oil

As a mother of two and house manager of our home I would say that taking care of our skin is really important. A good routine is vital: cleanse, hydrate, repair and moisturize.

Humidity and extraordinary extremes from 50 degree heat to cold air conditioning can leave the skin dry and dehydrated. It’s important to protect the skin from drying out but with the weather here mean that thick lotions or creams are no-no and very uncomfortable.

When Palmer’s Middle East sent to my house their newly launched product I am very excited to try it.I’ve been using it for almost two weeks now and I highly recommend it to all the mommies like me who always want to have radiant skin and look good even after a very tiring day. With the addition of powerful ingredient Cetesomate E complex an integral component of the Rapidermal Absorption System that acts as a delivery system for the other ingredients, improving spreadability and skin absorption.

Now it’s an effortless way to natural looking glow we always crave all through the day, The  Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula – Skin Therapy Oil is our perfect formula for beautiful skin and keep our skin moisturized, glowing and ensures continuous hydration anytime.

Heroes of the Bible – The story of Moses and the Burning Bushes (Exodus 7-12)

We are now on the second week of the Heroes of the bible series. This time the Kids Church will be discussing about Moses and the Burning Bushes.

The aim of the story is to show to the children that the real hero should be obedient and persistent. In Exodus 7 – 12, the story tells that Moses learnt that he needed to obey God’s instruction and never give up – these two qualities enabled him to lead the millions of Israelites out of the egypt and through the wilderness.

For the arts and crafts we prepared Burning Bush Paper Plate

  • Paper plate
  • Construction papers (red, orange and yellow)
  • glue
  • crayons

Cut the template by drawing the tree into the plate.

Then let the kids color it by using crayons or water color if available.

Once it covered, glue the colored papers to act as a flame.

Lastly, let the kids read the memory verse and enjoy the artwork.

Cook’s Nook – Filipino Style Pork Binagoongan with Eggplant

Without bragging if there is one recipe that I loved cooking most  is my own style of Pork Binagoongan. I loved my version with lots of fried eggplants and tomatoes.

photo 1-16

One of the twist that I made with this recipe is adding mashed roasted garlic and cooking it inside the oven. You should give this a try the meat turns out so crispy and tender.

This dish is a simple Filipino dish made out of crispy pork pieces dressed with bagoong sauce, a good dish paired with garlic fried rice and a glass of cold Coca Cola.

Cook’s Nook – Cream Dory Fillet with Spinach in Coconut Milk Sauce

Ang sosyal ng title ko noh?! hehe. Anyhow, If you are a breastfeeding mother like me then you will surely understand that preparing meal for our family requires effort but you don’t need to be a chef to make something good for your family.

There are many foods that are considered to be galactagogues, which help to increase the supply of breast milk and dark green vegetables such as alfalfa, lettuce, kale, spinach and broccoli are full of nutrients, especially calcium. They also contain phytoestrogens that may have a positive effect on milk production.

That is why I came up with a recipe that will boost my milk supply.

Cream Dory Fillet with Spinach in creamy coconut milk sauce is a simple yet flavorful dish.

For Fillet

  • 1 pack cream dory (cut into small squares)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1 cup pank Japanese Breadcrumbs

For Sauce

  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 bunch of spinach
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • small size of chopped onion

  • Season the cream dory fillet with salt and pepper. Let it stand for 15-20 minutes
  • Dip the marinated cream dory fillet into the beaten egg and next to to the Panko Japanese Breadcrumbs. Tap excess.
  • When it is fully coated let it rest 30 minuted inside the refrigerator.
  • While waiting for the fillet, in a cooking pan sauté onion and garlic then pour over the coconut milk. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Let it simmer for atleast 15- 30 minutes depending on your preferences. (I like mine na parang tuyo at nag o-oil ang data.)
  • Then add the spinach, cover the pan with the lid and turn off the stove.
  • Going back to the fillet, deep fry the fish fillet until golden brown. When everything is done tossed the fillet into the sauce and stir it carefully to make sure that it is fully covered.
  • Serve with steaming rice and enjoy!
