New Year @ Global Village

Don’t start the year off by spending money. Frugality on the first day sets the tone for wise money management in the coming year. Kaya naman go na lang kami sa Global Village. It’s been 4 years since the last time I went to this place and I must say that there are lots of changes In span of 4 years. For once meron na silang canal walk and lots, lots, lots of paninda. Para na siang pinasosyal na Tutuban Mall.

Being Filipino we went straight to our country Philippines and to my surprised isa lng ang me paninda ng gawang pinoy. Almost all of the stalls were run by Chinese and all of the products were from China. Tiaggean lng tlga sa Divisoria! hehe
The good news is there’s this one booth that sells filipino delicacies like Kwek2x na paborito ni daddy A, siomai, turon and much more. We ordered Lumpiang Toge and I was suppose to order Goto kaso ang tagal so balik kwek2x kami..Namiss pala namin to!
Shopping is not part of our plans so after roaming around the countries the little boy kept on asking to go to other side. The Circus area.
He’s so excited to ride in the Ferris Wheel. Maheheart attack na ata ako sa kaba kasi ang taas nun. But I can see his excitement so I asked daddy A to accompany him kasi I have fear of height.

While they were in the Ferris Wheel Raquiza and I ordered Potato Twirl. Ang cute kasi patatas na nakapalibot sa stick. Cute lang pla sia kasi di sia masarap..hehe

After the Ferris Wheel ride umiral na naman ang pagka adventurous ng anak ko kaya mega ride sia talaga. And of all the rides na sinakyan nia I was praying the whole time. I am not into rides kasi as in matatakutin ako kaso nagmana sia sa daddy nia, walang takot! Infairness, of all the rides na tinry ang pinaka naboringan sia ay ang Carousel. He’s not happy at all.

If you’re planning to go there I suggest to wear jacket or bring bonnet kasi super lamig as in. Shorts are not allowed pero di ka naman tlga makakapagshort kasi manginginig ka!Hahaha..

Global Village will run from October 21st, 2012 until March 30th, 2013.Entrance is Dhs 10.

New Year Eve Celebration

Hello everyone! How did you welcome 2013?Do you have New Year’s traditions that your family celebrates?

In the belief of ushering in a prosperous New Year we also follow some of the traditions that we inherited from my mother.

For Noche Buena we cooked Creamy Carbonara to signify long life. We also serve traditional delicacies made from malagkit (glutinous or sticky rice) like ang pamatay na biko ni Keke —that’s so good fortune will stick around throughout the year. Assorted fruits are also in our table these signify a month of a prosperous year.Di din kami nagluto ng chicken kasi daw buong taon kang “isang kahig isang tuka” sabi nga ni ake for 27 years in her life she never recalled seeing chicken or fish being served in our table. So erase ang supposed to be Roasted Chicken and replaced by Lechon Kawali pero inoven kaya ang lutong ng balat..yummy! Raquiza cooked her signature Yangchow Fried Rice while I cooked Buttered Garlic Shrimp. I forgot to purchased 7-up kaya I cooked the shrimp in orange juice and oyster sauce. Sarap ng sarsa as in!
Our cake is from ate Sherly. Natabunan ang No Bake Cheesecake ko kaya di ko nahain. And for the first time I prepared Fruit Salad. Nalimutan ko na ang paggawa nito simula ng lagi nilang sinasabing nagkakatonsilitis sila sa tamis..haha

The same goes for the neatness of our home. Daddy A vigorously cleaned and declutter everything especially ang lalagyan ko ng bags. Ang ayos na nila promise!
While in the Philippines go all out with the noise on New Year’s eve using all the paputok, in our home we only used torotot to scare away evil spirits.

But what makes our New Year Eve extra special is we always end our year with a whole-hearted prayer.

Seussical Magical World – Dr. Seuss theme was just right for little A’s 3rd birthday. This will always be our favorite theme. From planning to execution everything was made out of love.
Pretend play was always a huge hit for us. And playing veterinarian/doctor gives us the chance to explain the importance of conquering the fear. Well, kids will always be scared to the doctors but at least with this fun activity we can helped them to widen their imagination.

At dahil nga,Christmas season is a family affair we decided to watched the Live Dolphin & Seal Show at the Dubai Dolphinarium located inside the Creek Park, Gate 1.
Dolphinarium is in the festive mood so on every show there’s raffle draw and they were giving great prizes. At dahil nga gusto ni Lord siguro na mas mapasaya ang pasko ni Raquiza the lucky girl won a gift voucher worth aed 250 from Spa Genie. Sulit na ang entrance fee namin.

Day 25 – Opening of Christmas presents

This Christmas our family has so much to be thankful for. For one thing, my sister is here with us.No wonder that  being with her makes the christmas countdown extra memorable.

One of my family’s favorite Christmas traditions is the opening of christmas presents under our tree.

After the Christmas-everything is over and we are all ready to just sit around and enjoy the bits of wrapping paper and ribbons that are twirling around our toes.

The little boy could not wait for this time. He keeps on asking if it’s time na to open all the gifts under our tree.

It’s proven that our little boy is trully blessed with all the people around us. He’s so loved! His laughters and excitement is contagious.

Thank you so much Tita Aemi and Ann for his Zoo Lego. Tita Ann thank you for the new book. You just don’t know na sobrang happy si mommy to add The Giving Tree in our collection.

Tita Raquiza’s gifts were so precious as well as the little boy requested to have new Hot Wheels. In addition she also gifted him Fitflops. Yehey!!
